About Us

Star Sports Development Ltd, StarSD for short, is a company that has been set up by Mark Fuller and William Bennett.

The company was set up with the aim of promoting the sports of squash and racketball in the UK. This led to StarSD establishing a number of key vows and a general ethos to abide by. These are as follows:

- StarSD will strive to bring an end to faceless websites by showing our commitment and passion about the sports in providing the best service possible with the most up to date, relevant and exciting information.

- We strongly believe that racketball and squash have the potential to be much bigger with higher levels of participation in the UK and will do everything in our power to promote and expand the sports.

- StarSD will always conduct its businesses ethically and will act in the best interest of the sports and all those involved.

StarSD currently runs two different projects. These are UK-Racketball and Fantasy Squash.

Fantasy Squash

Fantasy Squash is StarSD's latest project. StarSD has designed a Fantasy Squash League which will run in a similar way to that of Fantasy Football. The project will also involve the running of The Fantasy Squash Festival and Series which will include a $5000 PSA event and a $4000 WISPA event.

Squash is played in over 40 countries around the world. In the UK there are 500,000 regular squash players making it one of the biggest sports. In the 1980s squash expanded in Europe, Egypt and Pakistan, it is now expanding rapidly in the US and in the Far East in countries such as Malaysia. In the squash world the number of people who follow the professional game is very small compared to the number of people who actually regularly play the sport.

The aim of Fantasy Squash will be to give fans a reason to support one player over another. To create a link between fans and players that will increase the following of the professional game. People will no longer only want to go and watch the player that they know personally, they will want to watch the player that is in their fantasy team or scout for players to include in the future. Fantasy Squash is the missing link that squash has never found, the way to bring this fantastic sport to the public.

UK-Racketball

UK-Racketball runs an online information website, The UK-Racketball Series, The Official National Racketball Rankings and a number of promotional events. The website www.uk-racketball.com is an online information source for all issues relating to racketball, including an online shop.

Squash and Racketball Promotions

At StarSD we run a number of promotional events for both squash and racketball and are always looking for new ways to promote the sports. We will be uploading some of our promotions which we have been running in the section below.

StarSD and Nottingham Squash Rackets Club Big Racketball Push

To try and combat falling membership numbers we devised a 4 pronged attack strategy to really get racketball going at Nottingham Squash Rackets Club.

1. City Centre Promotion with Mini Squash wall, flyers and a months free trial.

2. BBC East Midlands, interviews and the sports presenter playing Laura Hill

3. Exhibition and Open Day, local coach Mark Fuller vs Laura Hill, 5 times National Champion

4. The Nottingham Racketball Open, part of the 2010 Harrow UK Racketball Series.
